A half-hearted or hasty review of something with results that are thrown together quickly - usually just to get someone off your back.

Boss: "Did you look into that anomaly yet?"
Worker: "I'm fix'n to start my invetigation now. I'll be done in 10 mins."

When the accused party "investigates" itself instead of allowing an outside investigation. Generally the results of the investigation are pre-determined by the investigating party to avoid responsibility.

US Army bombs hospital in Kunduz and refuses an independent investigation with Pres. Obama giving his blessing. The inventigation results were leaked 2 days before the official release, the day before 2015 Thanksgiving, and can you guess the results?

1. Subtly trying to find out if a family member is dtf without destroying your relationship if they are not.

2. Portmanteau of Incest and Instigate. Putting two or more people who are related in naughty situations to see if they'll go for eachother.
