Inspired by the indecision that comes with hunger and low blood sugar, this expression is a rival to "Let's sleep on it" or "I need to sleep on it". Instead of delaying the decision until after one sleeps, the decision is delayed until after one has eaten and regained clarity of thoughts.

I need to eat on it or let's eat on it.
