A small, red, parasitic insect that can cause much irritation, especially when it sets up home in your private area.

The politically correct name for a chigger is "chegro," though there is a movement in some quarters for them to be called "red parasitic Americans."

Johnny: "Damn, these chiggers are driving me nuts. My yard is filled with them."

Fred: "Chegros."

Johnny: "Huh??"

Fred: "The correct name is 'chegro.' You should have said, 'these chegros are driving me nuts.'"
