a genre of music that kicks the asses of rappers, ditzy preppy girls that have 27 boyfriends in a week, and metal haters in general. ther r many subgenres of metal including:thrash metal, speed metal, death metal, death thrash, black metal, grindcore, metalcore,heavy and a fuck load more. nu metal is not fucking metal! its rap with a "heavy" guitar in the background. linkin park suxxxxxx!!!!!!people need to listen to real metal like metallica, slayer, sepultura, venom, cannibal corpse, black sabbath, iron maiden, motorhead, pig destroyer, deep purple, etc.

Metal has the potential to cover any emotion, unlike other genres such as Emo, which can only cover whining, and loss.

A sub-genre of rock music. Notorious for being heavy (hence the name, heavy metal), dark, and often deep pitched. The bass and drums are often played in sync while the guitar plays the main rhythm with riffs, licks, and chords. Stereotypic metal is often associated with darkness, destruction, pain, and Satanism. Ladies and Gentlemen, this is the music mommy and daddy warned you not to listen to.
The father of metal, Ozzy Osbourne, bit the head off of a bat during the song "Bark At The Moon". THAT is metal.
