Most commonly road boating is seen in MD when the truck bed is full of people and golf bags and space and time are of the essence. It also reduces the number of DDs needed for a large group of people.
We had a couple guys roadboating to the golf course because the truck was full and they wanted to drink on the ride there legally (drinking on boats while they move is legal unlike trucks).
