The indigenous citizens of Snowland, usually peaceful, were forced to submit to the strength of the Japanese military. Throughout the occupation, citizens were taxed unrealistically, beaten, and in many cases, removed from their homes altogether. Several rebellion movements occurred by local militias throughout the period, but none were successful. At the end of the occupation, Snowland was set back centuries in terms of innovation and progress, and is still considered a heavily undeveloped region in today’s world.
