A johnny boy was the guy who always used to like disco music in the seventies whereas other guys were into rock or punk or reggae. Characterised by perfect hair that was too perfect, wide flared trousers, preferably side-pocket baggies and shirt collars the size and shape of Concorde's wingspan, they used to hang round in groups at nightclubs trying to pretend they were classy cocksmiths when everyone, the girls included, always thought they were prize wankers
