Ignoracon

Ignoracon (noun): A person who is willfully ignorant or indifferent to clear signs of conspiracies or unethical practices, often due to the normalization of such behaviors in society. They are pron to voting against their own self interests and are likely to be regular viewers of Fox News.

Example sentence: “Despite numerous reports of data misuse and privacy violations, many ignoracons continue to use invasive technologies without question.”

Example sentence: “Many self described Republicans have deliberately chosen an obliviousness way of precieving the world around them, and have effectively transformed a once legitimate political party into nothing more than a cult full of ignoracons"

Ignorance Objectivity Bias

The belief that not knowing much about a topic actually makes you more objective—that knowledge itself is a form of corruption. The Ignorance Objectivist thinks that experts are biased by their expertise, that learning creates distortion, and that the fresh, untrained eye sees things more clearly. This is the bias of people who pride themselves on "just asking questions" without doing any of the reading required to understand the answers. It's ignorance reframed as a virtue, naivete as methodology.
