They actually competed against another girl group band and lost, but people all over the world decided that wasn’t going to be the last of one direction and it wasn’t long before they were the most popular boyband in the world. They went on hiatus in 2015 and said it was only going to be for 18 months. But it’s been 5 years. They all insist they’ll get back together one day and directioners keep one direction alive. 5 years later and directioners are still everywhere.
