When you have something put on you such as a kiss. When someone unexpectedly kisses another. That makes the receiver of the kiss a plate.

gold-plating

A practice in European Union, when its Member State adds new (and often more demanding) requirements to those that are expected in common legislation - mainly directives. Sometimes caused by overzealous bureaucrats, sometimes it is just their pure idiocy.

Bureaucrat 1: Recipients of this EU schemes are asked to submit invoices upon the end of the project.
Bureaucrat 2: Let's also ask them to write a 100-page long end-of-mission report, 10 testimonies of beneficiaries and copies of Annual reports 10 years back.
Bureaucrat 1: But that is gold-plating!
Bureaucrat 2: Sure, but we do not really want European money.

Plated

Being inebriated beyond the point of being able to eat. Word originated from people being so drunk they wanted to eat a honey butter chicken biscuit sandwich from Whataburger, but halfway through their meal, they passed out face first into their plate.

"you ever just been totally plated?"
"waaat bro? what's plated?"
"pshhh, you boob. you don't know what plated means?"
"naw dawg. tell me!"
"it's when you're so drunk, half way through eating your food you pass out on your plate."

Another name for tramp stamp! Mainly because the state only issues 1 license plate and it's placent is usually on or above the rear bumper!

Yellow Plate

A derogatory term or regional slur against New Yorkers (and sometimes New Jerseyites) who have recently moved to Florida since the start of the pandemic. Yellow plates are the scourge of Florida highways, frequently speeding as traffic is significantly less prevalent in their new state. They also enjoy city driving, considering that pedestrian and bicycle traffic is all but non existant. Floridians only find relief from Yellow Plates when a hurricane hits and they flee the state. Snowbirds are considered the upper class of Yellow Plates, generally accepted by the populus as seasonal guests, rather than a permanent burden.

That damn yellow plate just cut me off!

Look at that stupid yellow plate waiting for someone to pump their gas.
