When a rapper has someone write their lyrics for them, but they take the credit and record them.

If it weren't for a ghost writer, Foxy Brown and Lil' Kim would never even be taken seriously.

writer's overload

An ailment common with writers of all kinds. The opposite of writer's block, it's when one has so many ideas for a story that their brain shuts down in an effort to cope, usually resulting in a splitting headache and a craving for chocolate,potato chips, or some other unhealthy snack.

Usually lasts about an hour, a day in severe cases.

Friend: "Hey, what's wrong?"

Writer: "I've got writer's overload, man. Can you go get me some chocolate and an aspirin?"

One who writes the lyrics to a rap song and then someone else performs them. Often it is the better of the two rappers writing the song but not wanting the fame.
