In total the gameboy and gameboy colour sold 118.69 million units sold worldwide making it the 3rd best selling handheld after the nintendo switch outsold it in december 2022 the Gameboy lasted from 1989-2003 and was succeeded by the gameboy advance in 2001 in total the gameboy line of handhelds were made till 1989-2010 after 25+ years. In november 2004 came the nintendo DS which essentially killed of the gameboy advance and at that point the gameboy line of systems entirely.
