a person who is quite good with computers and other technical things. also rather unattractive, hence the 'minger' part. techie mingers often work in the tech support department of a company, and know far more than is normal about the ins and outs of servers, internet connections, firewalls, etc.

1.) A college-educated-20-something-year-old* who works in the Tech Industry Google, Facebook, Uber, JUUL... and, therefore, makes a direct impact on the quality of life in San Francisco, CA via:
a.) gentrification, b.) white-washing of local micro/cultures, c.) inflated & unsustainable housing market and prices
*Techies can, and overwhelmingly are, older than 20-something, however those 30yo+ techies oftentimes live outside of San Francisco proper- in the East & South Bays, where housing prices are not /as/ extreme as they are in the city.
/Techie is oftentimes used as a derogatory term. Techies do, actually, use the word to bash other techies who are on the extreme end of the "techie" spectrum./
