Why does everyone say SOAD is loaded with Tattoos and piercings? I don't think any of them has a visible piercing or tattoo. The only strange thing about their appearance is the beards. Yeah, they have some really weird looking beards. Often their songs reflect this weirdness. But it's good weirdness; it sounds cool, it's catchy and it makes you think. System IS different, I could always tell if a song was by system on the radio (even before I started listening to them) thanks to Serj's crazy Armenian voice. Some people refuse to acknowledge their talent because they're stuck in the days of Slayer and Black Sabbath (who are good... but their time is over), but I think SOAD is truly one of a kind.

System of a Down's style might not be right up you alley, but you can't deny that they're unique.

System 32

One of the most critical components of any computer. It houses most of the applications that your computer needs to operate. Generally, if modified in any way (except with the help of an I.T. guy) it will cause your computer not to work. This often comes up when someone is in a forum asking for technical support. Someone may suggest deleting System 32, which would cause the computer to become useless. There are also numerous spam emails, suggesting that they have "found" a virus in System 32, promting a deletion of a certain file.

Q. My computer has been running really slow lately. What can I do to speed it up?

A. Delete System 32. Worked for me.

Listen, I'm a death metal kid, and I even have to agree that yes, System of a Down kicks ass. To all you pop-poser assholes out there, kill yourself. Lets summarize what we have learned, shall we? System of a Down is a good band even to some death-heads, and all pop-fags deserve to die. End of discussion.

System of a Down

System of A Down is a very unique alternative metal band from Armenia. They mix strong political beliefs into their often unintelligible lyrics. All of the members have a unique style of playing their instruments, and Serj Tankien has one of the most unusual voices in popular music today. Who cares if they're pop. If they make good music, it shouldn't matter. The Beatles were pop, but they are one of the most influential bands ever. Oh, and by the way... the person who said that they use Drop-D is only half right. They play in Drop-D tuning one whole step down.

System of a Down fan

A lot of people are saying that we're all stupid and believe anything the band says ("Wake up! Grab a brush and put on a little make up! Hide the scars to fade away the shake up! Why'd you leave the keys upon the table? Here you go create another fable!") BUT! A true SOADfan:

-Uses proper spelling/grammar.
-Is open-minded to other people and their music.
-MIGHT call a person an "ignorant, mainstream music shithead" only if the person says something along the lines of, "System of a Down? I hate them. They're nothing but pointless screaming." ← That is ammo for arsenal.
-Fairly up-to-date on current politics/world affairs/news.
-Can have a debate, not an argument.
-Possibly registered on the site SOADfans.com.
-Does not shove ideas and beliefs down others throats.

All others who claim to be fans but don't abide by these qualifiers are probably just posing assholes who want to seem smart. Don't get the two confused.

Person: So what else do you listen to?
SOADfan: System of a Down.
Person: Ew, I hate them!
SOADfan: Why?
Person: They just scream about shit!
System of a Down fan: Right. Because singing about genocide and getting no recognition of said genocide is shit. Gotcha.
Person: Oh...that's what they were screaming about?

system of a down

One of the very few unique bands, both lyrically and musically. They are nu-metal, although different from most other nu-metal, mainly in the sense that they're good. I know people who listen to death metal and they agree that System of a Down is a good band. Anyone who calls them "pop" obviously hasn't heard any of their songs, or just wants to be "cool" by putting something controversial in an online dictionary. Although System of a Down has entered the mainstream after the release of Toxicity, it has still maintained a good, unique sound, although gaining many unwanted poser fans.

System of a Down has deep, meaningful lyrics, good vocals, and a unique sound, unlike most other nu-metal. Good thing I can understand the lyrics, unlike many posers who pretend to like them since they saw part of "Aerials" on MTV.
