The effect when any character, typically in video games, does not make any sounds, speak, grunt, etc. This is named after Gordon Freeman of the Half-Life series, who did not speak, grunt, or make any other sounds.

A person that will not be ruled or enslaved. A self-reliant, self-sufficient, independent person of any sex, any race that is self-directed, self-disciplined, and self-governed. A person that is not opposed to collective governments but believes each person's rights come not from man-made governments but from God and that all are responsible and accountable for their own actions. The exact opposite of a slave.
