The type of person to watch paint dry and try to find meaning behind it while using verbose sentences and condescending words to downplay any disagreements on their views of film and television.

Cod snob

A person who lives in Cape Cod, Massachusetts who thinks they are better than everyone else if they traced their lineage back to the Pilgrims. They will look down on others who don't do such a thing.

Olivia and Jacob are such Cod snobs. Just how would I have been able to turn down the advances of boys who feigned interest in me if I had relatives like them who thought I should only be dating fellow blue bloods they approved of? It's no wonder why Belinda, Chester, Haille, and Laura defined their stuffy rules. Haille is the only one of them who defied their stuffy rules and lived to tell about it, while the others later died.

Rulla snöbollar i solsken

This famous swedish phrase describes an attempt to achieve something that is inherently doomed to fail due to unfavorable or contradictory conditions. Just as snowballs cannot be successfully rolled or formed in warm, sunny weather, some tasks become impossible or futile when the necessary circumstances are not in place. The expression highlights the absurdity or impracticality of pursuing an endeavor when the environment or situation is completely unsupportive. Context: Two friends, Sara and Anton, talk about Anton's idea to plan an outdoor concert in the middle of winter.

Sara: "Are you sure it's a good idea to have an outdoor concert in January?"

Anton: "I know, it's not ideal, but I think it can work."

Sara: "Anton, it feels like trying to roll snowballs in the sunshine. Nobody wants to stand outside and freeze then."

Anton: sighs "You're probably right. Maybe I should think again."

Sammanhang: Två vänner, Sara och Anton, pratar om Antons idé att planera en utomhuskonsert mitt i vintern.

Sara: "Är du säker på att det är en bra idé att ha en konsert utomhus i januari?"

Anton: "Jag vet, det är inte idealiskt, men jag tror det kan funka."

Apple Snobs

Apple Snobs: Primarily associated with Generation Z, these individuals flaunt the latest, most expensive Apple phones as a social status symbol. While the term mainly targets younger generations, it can also apply to older ones like Generation X. Often, these Apple Snobs live at home, have no driving license, rarely travel abroad for holidays, and have limited financial means. They often look down on those who are less materialistic, who are content with simple, budget-friendly phones, even if those individuals have more wealth than them, like nice cars or homes.

Lee: Frank, remember that young lad at work who was all high and mighty last week? Walking around with his new Apple phone like he was the king of the world?"

Frank: I remember! He was looking down on me for using my Motorola.

Lee: He went to London, got apple picked last weekend, came back, tail between his legs.

Frank: LOL. How the worm turns,

Lee: LOL. There amusing these apple snobs bruv.

Good music snob

A music snob who will only listen to something outside of their comfort zone if they find it themselves. If you try and recommend a song or genre they won’t bother.

Always has to tell you some random fact about the songs you guys listen to.

Oh yeah, he’s definitely a music snob but not so much a bad one. I guess he’s a good music snob.

Glow up snob

A person who has a glow up (transformation or massive improvement to outward appearance, usually by learning how to dress or do makeup/hair) and suddenly thinks they are better than everyone else, even people they were friends with. This attitude can last from a short period as they become used to their newfound beauty to YEARS after their transformation. Due to this abrupt change in attitude and personality, the person usually cuts off the friends they now consider lower than them and seeks out connections with people they judge to be on or only slightly below their new, elevated level.

Not specific to gender, but much more common in girls/women. Can occur at any age, however it is most common in teens to early twenties, as changes in puberty can play a major role.

Also note: if the transformation is from "normal" or mainstream to a more vintage style, the glow up snob can also become a vintage bitch.

Person A: "Awww look at this picture! Joy was so little and cute back then!"
Person B: "Back then, sure. Too bad she grew up to be a glow up snob. She's just a jerk now."
