The word ("Gang Monkey") was originally made from a game called ("Vrchat") on Steam made in 2014 as a chat application for virtual reality, created by Graham Gaylor and Jesse Joudrey.
Gang Monkey is two separate words including gang and monkey, gang are related as in Vrchat would make groups aka "gangs" and would do actions the same as trolls of a game, and monkeys are related as they act like animals, monkeys.
Throughout the years of Vrchat gang monkeys would adapt their trolling ways and go on to using in-game clients for what? You guessed it! For trolling purposes, there would first be exploiting the use of making avatars to lag or crash or heat your GPU or worse attempt blue screening your computer in some cases breaking your PC in some sort of way.
As EAC has been added to Vrchat gang monkeys have had a hard time trying to bypass EAC (Anti Cheat for Vrchat), so clients are not as common on Vrchat anymore but are still seen.
To describe who or what are gang monkeys, there are mostly trolls and do troll things for example, "Crashing" and starting arguments and being (normally) very racist, homophonic, and just shaming on whatever you are, stuff in your bio, for some gang monkeys do activities such as of "doxing", "swatting", "extorting", etc.
Not to say that on the other hand, some gang monkeys are not all bad, but for some users of Vrchat they are seen as annoying and cringe users who have nothing to do with their lives.
