For example, tasks may be processed more efficiently or with a greater "burden" on one side of the brain depending on the task's nature and the individual's specific neural wiring.

When I tried to multitask during finals, I felt the cognitive burden asymmetry kick in—my left brain was struggling with math while my right brain was zoning out on my playlist!
