A demifan is a fan of a certain piece of media, especially if the media is controversial, where the person in question is a fan of the concept, story, or anything else of the like, without directly supporting one aspect, typically the creator, by either not supporting them, putting them in the "cons" list in addition to the aforementioned, or, in extreme cases, not even mentioning them. This is the best kind of fan of a controversial piece of media.
