A slice of ham can be used in many various situations. One being: when seeing something you approve of (ie. typically an attractive male or female).
Male 1: "Aww have you seen her?"

Slicing Oranges

A playful euphemism for engaging in a friendly but questionably timed intimate assist—similar in spirit to a “reach-around,” but said in a way that sounds suspiciously wholesome. Often used when one wants to dramatically downplay what was actually happening.
Secchi walked into the room way too cheerful for 7 a.m., and Lou just smirked like they’d been slicing oranges behind that closed door.
