a smug statement used by biochemical engineers while in conversation with chemists, once this is said it will often cause a heated debate between the two scientists. this relates to the fact the the E.coli bacteria can be modifided to produce chemical compounds, stealing the job of chemists.

chemist: 'I'm designing a process to produce a new anti-A.I.Ds medication'
biochem engineer: 'You do know that E.coli does it better'

Even though there is no factual reason explaing why something is way much better, its undersood by those discussing that by saying way much better there is no need to exlpain why or how or details.
