A Pitchman is someone who would try to convince you of a sale, The most authentic type of Pitchman would be located on a street corner or outside a busy area, he would have a small stall, which he would carry around easily with him from place to place trying to sell his wares. Not comparable to modern day charity clipboard people, these guys had an art and a style to how they worked and they would always make a sale, in the short term or long term.

That's Old Ed over there. He sold me this tie for only a buck!! He's a real Pitchman.
