Get the dubsin mug.A genre of underground bass music originally created by people such as Benga, Skream, Plastician and Youngsta. Currently pioneered by people such as J:Kenzo, Distance, District, Kromestar, and Kaiju. Defined by a dark sound, slow tempo, a somewhat consistent, heavy bassline and a drum beat. Made in the UK. Not to be confused with the US dubstep shit pioneered by Skrillex and Datsik etc. Originally came from UK Garage music. Similar to Grime.
Person 1: Hey, you heard that new dubplate by Distance on the new GetDarker episode?
Person 2: Yeah, I really want to get that on vinyl, I love dubstep

Get the dubstep mug.A person who calls any electronic-sounding music for dubstep or Skrillex because they don't know squat about music genres.
1: Bruh, those beats are GREAT. Who wrote this stuff?
2: Yo, I think it's dubstep.
1: Just because it's electronic doesn't make it dubstep, dubass.

Get the dubass mug. What used to be a kickass genre of edm music that changed the way people looked at edm music forever. However, ever since 2014, the genre has gone extremely downhill in terms of quality and style. The genre technically evolved into other types of edm including trap, house, and drum and bass. However, even though we got many new types edm from this, it changed dubstep for the worse.
Me listening to 2012 dubstep: Hell yeah, turn this shit up!
Me listening to 2019 dubstep: What the hell happened to this once great genre?
RIP dubstep 2011-2014
