1) In the graphic design world, these three letters are usually written large (and possibly in red letters to call attention to them) on a photo, illustration etc. that will be replaced with the actual one at a later time. Used in creating graphic design concepts when the designer does not have all of the artwork yet.
2) An object, possession, or anything else that will eventually be replaced with a nicer version very soon.

The FPI gains its name from pre-existing methods to calculate inflation, those being the consumer price index and retail price index. FPI exclusively looks at the weighted cost of Freddo bars and does not account for the cost of living.
News reader "Mark Carney will sit down with the MPC today to decide on the base rate for this upcoming quarter, officials will be taking into account CPI, RPI and the Freddo price index when making their decision to incentivise spending or not."
