It is a way of expressing harsh realities through music, with lyrics addressing social issues, struggle, and resistance. It is the extreme sound of real life—raw, unfiltered, and uncompromising.
Unlike #Deathcore, #Brutalcore tends to sound dirtier, more street-like, and much more visceral, with a denser groove and fewer technical or progressive elements. #Brutalcore feels more hostile overall but maintains a heavy, relentless flow, designed for the intensity of the mosh pits.
Although the genre is solidifying within the global underground scene, there are some early influences from bands like Nasty, Coldhard Truth, Suicide Silence, among others.
