Brutalcore

Brutalcore is an extreme fusion of genres that blends the aggression of Brutal Death Metal and Hardcore, with influences from Beatdown, Slam, Grindcore, and even RAP in some cases.

Characterized by ultra-heavy rhythms, violent breakdowns, intense blast beats, and a raw, direct approach to its lyrics, which often reflect urban realities, social struggles, and a defiant attitude toward the status quo. It is a way of expressing harsh realities through music, with lyrics addressing social issues, struggle, and resistance. It is the extreme sound of real life—raw, unfiltered, and uncompromising.

Unlike #Deathcore, #Brutalcore tends to sound dirtier, more street-like, and much more visceral, with a denser groove and fewer technical or progressive elements. #Brutalcore feels more hostile overall but maintains a heavy, relentless flow, designed for the intensity of the mosh pits.

Although the genre is solidifying within the global underground scene, there are some early influences from bands like Nasty, Coldhard Truth, Suicide Silence, among others. These bands approach a similar sound but lean more toward metal-hardcore, deathcore, or hardcore beatdown. However, the Colombian band Bronx Tales is considered the "Godfathers" of Brutalcore, as they incorporate all the aforementioned elements, plus Latin rhythms and a clear social theme, with an unique and electrifying performance. It is perhaps the first band to be explicitly categorized as Brutalcore per se, based on online sources
