Hero complex

Someone that portrays themself as a hero.

The first responder was always the first one there, and though nobody questioned his/her hero complex, there weren't too many other people that wanted the world to burn.

Gym-Hero

That person next to you at the gym that is so over the top extra. Can’t just do a normal exercise but instead has to play the “hero” so that everyone else in class knows they are the best. Signs you are a “gym hero”: 1. You always pull the heaviest weights and then throw them on the ground so people hear the thud, 2. You incorporated push-up in with every standard exercises as a way to show off and 3. You do something really abnormal like run at the fasters speeds at the highest inclines on the treadmill to attract attention and praise.

Studies have shown that calling out this behavior to said “gym hero” only amplifies their desire to strut their stuff. Authorities on the matter suggest you try your best to ignore it.

Did you see so-and-so add a clap to their pushups today, (heavy eye roll) who does he think he is, some sort of gym-hero?

hero shift

N. The hero shift is a shift worked at a retail store from before open to after closing time. This usually leads to a day long nap the next day.

Employee 1: Did you hear Rick is pulling a hero shift today?
Employee 2: he is either desperate for money, or hates himself and his sleep schedule.

1. A game that bad guitarists get good at to feel like they have achieved something in the world of guitar, (normally posted on video hosting websites by annoying little kids).

2. A popular past time for real guitarists who feel like trying something different.

Real guitarist#1: Hey John did you nail "through the fire and flames" last night!?

Real guitarist#2: yeah, ive been working on that solo for so long.

Guitar hero kid: HEY!!!, i got 754000 on that with guitar hero!!

Real guitarist#1: oh Jesus, not another one...

Real guitarist#2: Yeah, what a douchebag.
