one of many vague, nebulous, meaningless marketing hype phrases with no prerequisites, rules or regulations required to differenciate between them.

see: hit, break-out/thru, smash.

they imply that the product is already in some way "successful" & therefore is deserving of your attention, because you the consumer are a follower & couldnt possibly find something interesting on your own unless thousands or millions or others had already experienced it & said it was worth your valuable sheeple time & interest.

After a decade long career, selling millions of albums and touring the world several times over, the band finally had a 'smash hit' that went to number 30 in the charts.

When you smoke pot, weed and or dope out of a popper bottle. Poppers were invented in Orangeville Ontario Canada 1970 when the first plastic soft drink bottles were introduced. It is proven to be the most conservative and effective way to smoke marijuana.

hitting the switches

From 2Pac's rap classic "How Do U Want It." In it, 'Pac says "I'm hittin' switches on bitches like I been fixed with hydraulics." The phrase means that you make all the nastiest, smoothest moves when it comes to sexin' your lady of choice. For added effect, many times one might pretend to be flipping switches and make a variety of sounds that might be heard on a car with hydraulics, because that "bitch" was bouncing up and down and putting on quite the show. Well done.

"When I was breaking in that one trick from the bar last night, I was hittin' them muhfuggin switches, boy!"

Person 2: "No I haven't, but I'll download their discography and listen to the first three tracks in order of popularity on Last.Fm - then I'll tell you."

Person 1: "You big Hits Listener."
