Get the Malus mug.A slang referring to South Indians from Kerla, India. The slang was created by 2 friends from Dallas , Texas. The goal was to shorten the term Malayallee to a cooler & prouder term for where they were from, hence MALU was born .
They started calling all malayallee’s “MALU” starting with their friends one day and it was very well accepted and rest is history.
“Malu”. derived from existing word “Kalu” spread like wildfire across the US eventually making it to Kerla, India, then across India.
Some slogans also went along with the new term, also first created by these 2 friends from Dallas were : “ Malu4Life” , “Malu bigger than Kalu”. & “UBM2” slogan meaning “You Be Malu Too”. which took off to while another level of popularity.
