I use the word because it came out of my mouth one day and I really like the way it sounds; it’s a fancy way to take a break from the everyday “fer sherr” or “totes magotes”… and it’s so versatile! It can be used honestly or sarcastically.
“GIRL #1: ‘Girl. This dress is frickin fiiiii-yerrrr.’
GIRL #2: “OH. Fōsche.”

The Fosca effect is therefore the feeling of an old person when he or she outlives their friends and the other people around them also disappear. It is a mixture of melancholy, pride and the guilt of still being alive.
