Divide and conquer

A group approach to the solution of a problem by breaking it down and having members of the group solve different parts of the problem simultaneously. Rooted from the historic strategy of powerful empires/rulers separating their enemies among themselves before attacking them; separating a large army into smaller divisions to be able to defeat each smaller portion at a time.
*Working on group school project* "Let's divide and conquer this thing. Let's break it down into four parts and all four of us can pick one to do."

the liar's dividend

The Liar's Dividend is a phrase (of unknown origin) in popular culture that has crept into the common English language via journalism and social media, especially during the 21st century. The Liar's Dividend can be referred to as a phenomenon in social psychology where the instigator of a lie can subsequently benefit from that lie by sowing seeds of doubt upon a controversial topic or a person / person's motives due to an effect known as "The Liar's Dividend". In September 2020 the phrase was mentioned in a YouTube discussion in the media relating to Donald J. Trump the 45th President of the United States of America where a commentator stated: "... Its called 'the liar’s dividend'... Once you put the information out there, you set the agenda and then you drive people's perception around what reality is ... people tend to believe what they hear first, what they hear the most.”
My ex partner was an extreme narcissist that took advantage of what is known as "The Liar's Dividend" in order to either - obtain a benefit, play the victim or deliberately obfuscate a topic of contention.

Due to 'The Liar's Dividend phenomenon', eventually, after years of being perplexed at what had happened, enough of a pattern arose (in my mind) to establish that the common denominator was my ex colleague who had been (unbeknownst to me) consistently and persistently spreading misinformation and disinformation about me at my previous work place which resulted in me quitting due to an overwhelming feeling of stress from being blamed for things that I hadn't done.

My ex partner was a pathological liar that would regularly dupe people into believing lies about me - trying to clear my reputation and my name from those lies (after the lie/s had already been told) was almost impossible due to an effect called "The Liar's Dividend".

Attempting to exonerate myself from my narcissistic ex partner's lies about me was always an extremely difficult task due to what is known as "The Liar's Dividend".
