Tantra

A word that is NOT synonymous with kinky sex. Meaning "to weave" or "to loom" in Sanskrit, the term tantra refers to the weaving together of different teachings and traditions into a single text, much like how the word "sutra" means "to sow together." The term tantra refers to any systematic text, theory, or system in Indian religion, but is especially associated with the esoteric traditions in Hinduism and Buddhism.

The vast majority of tantric texts have nothing to do with sex. The sexual connotation that the word "tantra" has in the west stems from a white guy going to India and cherry picking the parts of the tantras that he liked, and repackaging them for other white people.

I'm someone who is aware that the vast majority of tantra isn't sexual. I'm not a wanna be hippy.
