Interlude

How can you tell someone,
That you love them?
That you know they understand what you mean,
By those words.

How can you tell if they understand what you mean,
If you don't tell them who you are?
But would that weaken what love is?
If you got to explain over and over again who you are?

How do I understand what it means to love someone?
I have my reasons, understandings, views.
How could I know if what I'm talking about is what you're on about?
How else but to keep going.

Is it a mission, a quest, a job?
No, it's somewhere I've never been before.
I just hope.
What you say is real.
When you say "I love you."

Love you.

Ahh the Interlude, best part of the show.
Now we can discuss what happened in the first half in the restrooms!

Interbublance

Interbublance (noun):
The unique state of existing in close proximity to others while maintaining your own mental or emotional “bubble,” only interacting when someone else’s bubble overlaps with yours. It’s the perfect balance of connection and solitude, where you’re vibing with people but not necessarily with them. Think of chilling with friends, each doing your own thing, until someone’s presence naturally pops into your zone.

1. “We were all hanging out, totally in our own interbublance, and it was the most peaceful yet connected vibe ever.”

2. “After the party, we all sat around the fire in total interbublance—some scrolling on our phones, others just staring at the flames. It was perfect.”

3. “I love cafes for their interbublance. Everyone’s in their own little world, but there’s still this quiet sense of community.”

commercials-interlude scramble

Refers to the suddenly-occurring interval of frenzied activity that you engage in while partaking of a favorite radio/TV show, and the program cuts to a commercials-break for a minute or two; there will be nothing of interest being broadcast --- and therefore you do not need to be glued to the speaker or tube --- during this period, and so you frantically rush around the room to attend to assorted matters that you'd been "holding" or "delaying" while your riveting program was on, such as going pee, checking/adjusting the washing-machine, grabbing a pillow/blanket, getting more snacks from the fridge, etc.

While binge-watching episodes of Knight Rider on DVD, I realized that I'd forgotten to have my daily apple. Now of course, unlike a regular radio/TV broadcast, pre-recorded home-media like this can simply be paused anytime you please without missing anything, but I wanted to experience this delightful "blast from the past" material in just the same way that I'd remembered it from having seen it years ago on NBC, and so I waited till the beginning of the next episode for the classic "Knight Rider, a shadowy flight into the dangerous world of a man who does not exist" introduction-speech to begin, then did my usual "commercials-interlude scramble" to retrieve a nice big Red Delicious and a paring knife, and then race back to the couch again before the episode-title was displayed.
