.

Used to end a sentence.
Also, period, full stop, dot and bullet point.
When three .'s are next to each other (i.e. ...) it means a pause, you don't know what to say or used in books to start a new idea.
Teachers are nuts about them.
Day 1

This simple little dot here is the root to all endings, whether it be a sentence or an argument from your girl friend who sent you a five paragraph text and you reply with simply, "Ok." This 'period' has caused more relationships to end than recover.
Girlfriend: Sends a 10 page essay why they are mad

Boyfriend: "I don't feel like reading all of this right now tho, ima just send her a passive aggressive two letter word to let her know I'm listeningbut also don't really care." 'Ok.'

Girlfriend: "Ah, so he's decided death?" Proceeds to send a next five.
