It was offically was established in 1700's. Culpeper, once called Farifax, and renamed by Lord Farifax the sixth, once consisted of 5,282,000 acres. This land was confiscated by colonists when the Revolutionary war began. Culpeper once consisted of Orange, Madison, Spotsylvania, and Rappahannock Counties. Wow that's huge!
