A change in a teenage male's life when he decides to to stop playing videogames, usually followed by a sudden ability to socialize.

That kid just underwent a Julian Shift and now all his friends want to to play him Xbox again, despite the fact that they were dicks to him.

The Great Shift

Usually referring to the positive change in public opinion on watching or enjoying anime as a whole. It’s debated on when exactly The Great Shift occurred, but it can most closely be linked to the 2020 lockdown, and the release of mega popular shows around that time, such as Jujutsu Kaisen and Demon Slayer.
