Empty Net Syndrome

When your friends that are normally online to help you chat your way through your work day decide to go on vacation or get jobs where they can't be online anymore. Similar to empty nest, you feel very alone!

Chrisy: I'm going to New York for the week.
Kim: Oh i got a new job. I start today, so I wont be online anymore during work hours.
Jen: Screw you guys, I'm going to have a serious case of Empty Net Syndrome. :-(

Net Lag

the sum of jet-lag-like symptoms caused by watching a series of matches (e.g. the FIFA World Cup) live, in the small hours of the night, due to major national time differences, over a period of days or weeks (with "net" referring to the net in soccer, or tennis, or volleyball, etc.)

There are still two late-night World Cup matches to watch! Football has caused me a lot of very late nights this month, and I'm blooming knackered, suffering from an acute case of "net lag"!
