The US and Iran were in conflict, Australia set on fire, Kobe Bryant died in a helicopter accident, the coronavirus spread worldwide, George Floyd died to police brutality which unleashed a bunch of riots, theres probably more to come... Using "2020" as an adjective or in a phrase simply sums up ones misfortune.
