An bird that never can just listen to a word somebody says without trying to take credit for being the one that said/did it.

Even the other kids at her college didn't trust the dork when they were there together, she would try to defer responsibility (like a parrot calling somebody a name it was just called) for being a dork to someone else, trying to get everyone to hold that person/those people accountable for being dorks.
