A long term partnership with someone that is ambiguously platonic to outsiders.

It’s an undefinable permanent relationship between two people that is more than friendship, but they aren’t in a ‘relationship’ per se.

It often involves homosexual men, who are somewhat closeted.

Lisa Marie Preslie and Michael Jackson were permanent friends.
