Fail Mail

This is not a new term, but a new use for an existing one.

Fail Mail: When a user's email gets stuck in their Outbox and refuses to be sent, for any reason.

John found out why Julia had not received his invitation. There it was, stuck in his Outbox. His beautifully written, sweet, sincere invitation to the girl of his dreams had turned into fail mail.

Failed Trust Fund Baby

When someone inherits a large sum of money as a minor but their Executor of Estate spends it all before they become of age. Oftentimes the Executor dies or disappears before they can be held accountable.

Fail Mix

A significantly less-healthy snack substitute for trail mix, first popularized among Seattle-area hipsters who like to hike but also prefer drinking coffee, getting stoned, and not being rained on. Most fail mix contains higher proportions of gummies, chocolate, candies, or caramel corn than would actually be beneficial for backpacking. Fail mix may occasionally lack nuts and granola all together.

Heather: "Hey hand me some of that fail mix, I've got the munchies!"
Rick: "Sorry, I already picked out most of the Swedish Fish. Were we actually gonna go hiking?"

Twig: "No it's raining... This fail mix is starting to taste like trail mix, put more gummy bears in it..."

fail good story

When a story is presented as heartwarming but ends up illustrating a societal failure. An example of this would be a very elderly cashier getting an award for not missing a day of work in decades, while the US allows his employer to not give paid time off and does not pay a living wage.

Person 1: Did you see that a school got a donation to finally have heating?

Person 2: Considering we are the largest economy in the world, that’s some fail good story material there.

failed ratio

Basically a failed ratio is when you make a ratio on youtube, twitter, tiktok, Reddit, etc and it doesn’t get the typical amount of upvotes/retweets/hearts or likes that successful ratios do

Person: idc + ratio
The ratio gets no likes or retweets
Person 2: failed ratio
