The practice of adding the letter ‘A’ to the start of a company name so it appears at the beginning of the phone book.

It may look silly, but aaaaaabeduation actually works for companies. It started in the before-times with paper telephone books but since the advent of The Internet, the practice has not only proliferated but mutated into more virulent forms.
