Australian's are renowned for their constant use of occa slang, Cheers Mate being a regular way to thank someone, especially in a restaurant or shop, after being served, you would thank the server by saying Cheers Mate

The combination of accent and slang, is heard generally as Cheese Mike. Especially in a restaurant setting. In a wider group of people who have travelled, Cheese Mike is another way to say thankyou. Which will usually lead to a conversation about why?
