bit hose

A term used by IT professionals to refer to a network link, or flow of data in bits, bytes, etc. A "Bit hose" could be any I/O, yet is intended to be used in reference with networking.
In reference to a network intrusion, "Sadly, the rogues walked in through the bit hose and set up shop; most had no idea they were ever there."

Derives from a device in a horses mouth that keep the animal under control. To have lost the bit is to have totally lost control on ones anger or emotions, when shortened it becomes “he’s totally lost it”

Australian Slang

1. A caring, friendly, unselfish action by a person is is always available when needed most

2. An action by one who is dedicated to the happiness of others, often to the detriment of his/her own needs

3. A sacrificing spirit for a friend who doesn't really deserve a helping hand, an unexpected helping hand by a friend who is often lazy
It was very generous of her to turn up and start helping out with our renovations...it was a bit Gary of her.
