Scrotii

The Latin slang term first used under the reign of emperor Augustus and originated in the Lombardian Alps. Directly translated to multiple scrotums, Scrotii was mainly used to describe the neck scarves that the soldiers used to wear made of their dead foes scrotums. The soldiers used to wear these to keep their necks protected by the thick layer of skin and to help keep them warm through their mountainous treks.

Scottish Garlic Bread

Scrotie McBoogerballs

A book that was written by Cartman, Kyle, Stan and Kenny in the Southpark episode "The Tale of Scrotie McBoogerballs". The book, and its wide success was used as a satirical device in regards to the over-analyzing of literature. The main objection was that the readers were reading too deeply into something which had little to no meaning.

When used as a comparison to an actual piece of work, it can be used to describe a piece of work that is worthless, but is praised, or it can be used to describe a piece of literature with its own merits, but is only widely known due to the (often unwarranted) controversy it caused.

Many examples of pretentious poetry can be referred to as a Scrotie McBoogerballs.
