Pointles is an adjective used to describe anything that is, within reasonable parameters, moot, stupid, 'gay', useless, dumb, idiotic, repetative, rudimentary, abject, retarded, subpar, less-than-stellar, ugly, unfunny, akin to (insert least favorite celebrity name here), or any material object one is unable to possess

-The condom nerds carry in their wallet is pointles.
-That expensive looking car your neighbor has in their driveway is pointles.
-An umbrella on a sunny day is pointles.
-An African American wearing sunscreen is pointles.
-Having a job is pointles.
-Having a definition of 'pointles' is pointles.

pointless crit

In games, a critical hit that occurs redundantly and in which a normal hit would have been just as effective.
These are often annoying or frustrating in a game where critical hits are rare and/or generally out of the player's control/influence.

Yeah, I was battling a trainer in Pokemon and I got a pointless crit when their Pokemon's HP was pretty low. I could've used it at any other point but RNGesus chose now of all times.
