1. Extended over many books
2. Published over many years
3. Uses cliffhangers and leaves story arcs incomplete between books

Inspired by Robert Jordan's "Wheel of Time".

Why was Adam so pissed yesterday?" "Oh, he just found out that the author of that series he was reading pulled a jordan. After reading 8 books of that series already.

Describes a hot, desirable, much anticipated item; an item that one would go to great lengths to obtain. Original usage referred to Michael Jordan's signature basketball shoes, which are released on Saturdays. Long lines of people hoping to be the first on the block to sport the new Jays can form outside shoe stores early on Saturday mornings.

Jordan Rudess

Formally trained keyboardist for the progressive metal band Dream Theater. He is also a Julliard alumnus, who has also played with the Dixie Dregs and Liquid Tension Experiment.

Jordan Rudess is perhaps the best keyboardist I've heard since Keith Emerson.
