Cuffing Season

Usually the colder months; i.e. fall or winter, when new relationships start and old relationships turn into engagements. The persons in said relationships are "cuffed", meaning that they no longer seek non-platonic relationships with others.

1) I have lost count of the number of friends getting engaged. Cuffing season has begun.

2) "Are you single?" "Not for long. It's cuffing season."

cofting

v. Specific art of partying consisting in 1. getting completely drunk, 2. go clubbing/barhopping, 3. watch the moonset/sunrise, 4. go to sleep when the birds are singing, 5. wake up before noon and 6. work the whole day. Alternatively replacing steps 3. to 5. by hooking up with a stranger can be considered cofting. It should be noted that remembering one's own name after 3 am not beeing subject to a massive hangover implies no cofting occurred.

- Dude what's up? You look tired!
- Yeah, we did some serious cofting last night!

Hand-Cuffing

When a guy is in public with a girl he likes, and will not leave her side because he fears she will talk to other men. Usually the girl is too attractive for him, and does not reciprocate his romantic feelings, but is leading him on for a while, probably for free drinks/purses. He is definitely only a friend, but she probably has no other prospects at the time, or has just gotten out of a bad relationship and is entertaining the idea of letting this guy date her.

How to tell if a guy is hand-cuffing

1.) The girl he is with is much too attractive for him
2.) He has a worried look on his face and keeps scanning the bar/club/mall for potential threats.
3.) They never touch or kiss, he just kind of looms in her personal bubble, hoping for more attention.

If you see a guy hand-cuffing, go talk to his girl. He won't say anything; he will just stand there quietly with a slightly sour expression on his face until you are done.

Jim: Wow, did you see that girl walk in? She's gorgeous... I think I'm gonna go talk to her.

Joe: Nah bro, she's with her boyfriend. Don't you see that guy hanging all over her?

Jim: Man, he's just hand-cuffing... See how scared he looks? He has a fauxhawk, and she probably dressed him. She needs some testosterone in her life, I'm going in.

Hit The Nail On The Coffin

A Malaphor, or an idiom blend, combining "hit the nail on the head" (to do something exactly right) and "another nail in the coffin"(something that will harm or destroy someone – e.g., cigarette) to mean someone succeeded at doing something that may lead to their demise or the demise of another or just that they did a great job at something that they probably shouldn't have done at all.

Best used sarcastically.

"You did a great job of pissing off your ex. Really hit the nail on the coffin back there."
"What?"
