People didn'
t come up with sports as a way to battle for superiority or
break records, and not everybody that has ever played or been involved in sports has done it for that reason, or has to get used to or accept
people doing it for that reason. Sports are called a pastime because they are a way to enjoy passing
time, nothing more, nothing less. They really are stupid fucking games, and don't indicate a whole lot about who somebody really is while not playing sports. For examle, somebody having
talent at a sport isn't the same thing as somebody doing something heroic in real life. Somebody failing at a sport doesn't indicate that they are cowardly in every situation in their life. Every team that has won championships and titles has lost or not gone to the playoffs more than they've won titles when their entire team
history is examined/looked at, even the teams/players that won the most or hold the most records. Holding nothing sacred but winning is silliness, not seriousness.
The kinds of
people that try to get
people to take sports seriously are the same kinds of
people that try to get people to take the coronavirus/vaccinations/masks, or anything else they use to scare people with, seriously. People already take all the wrong things seriously and get mad about all the wrong things, which is why you have people getting shot after an NBA Finals celebration. There are things in life to get mad about certainly, but no matter who wants to get you mad about them, sports are games.
