Northern Virgina or "NOVA" for short is an area in the due North and North Eastern part of Commonwealth of Virginia. This area is dominated by the counties of Arlington, Fairfax, Prince William, and the city of Alexandria. In addition it contains many smaller cities which share common boarders/land with the larger counties.
In this region south and West of the Potomac River, also very far South of the Mason Dixon line, the most arrogant and staunch yuppies found in the Commonwealth if Virginia can be found. Even those considered "lower class" in this region live far better than your average person. In addition, while there are a high number of immigrants in this region, many of them prefer to be considered "Caucasian."
Northern Virginians love to play dual roles. First they claim to be "northern" which in fact they are just a step above Red Necks and one step below Hill Billies on the evolutionary chain.
Finally they all proclaim they are
from the District of Columbia or "D.C
If a Northern Virginian was dropped of on Martin Luther King Ave in SE Washington, or Suitland PKWY where D.C. and Prince Georges County Maryland boarder, said Virginian would pee his/her pants.

Get the Northern Virginia mug. the part of virginia that ignores the rest of virginia because the rest of virginia isnt as rich, and is therefore labled a home for "hicks." Also known as the blue part of a traditionally red state, mostly because of its diverse cultural background. This part of the state of virginia is comprised of many identical developments with cliched names such as "oak hill", "maple ridge", or "pine meadow." Of course , the irony behind the situation is that the oaks, maples, and pines have all been cut down.

Get the northern virginiamug. A detestable suburban backwater of America's lame, bland and culturally vacant capital. Filled with characterless subdivisions populated with characterless people and the poor immigrants that serve them, this place is so utterly conventional and uninteresting that it actually makes Westchester, Long Island, and Northern New Jersey look like they aren't cultural wastelands. NoVA doesn't suck simply because it lacks museums and "culture"--this is to be expected of any suburb. It sucks because the city it borders sucks. That city sucks because it is the center of government, and to be successful in government, one must be as uncontroversial (hence, boring, conventional) as possible. Any individual considering giving birth and raising children should realize that forcing them to grow up in NoVA will stunt them intellectually, emotionally, and aspirationally, for the rest of their lives.

Get the northern virginiamug. I have lived here forever with the exception of D.C. Pretty cool place to live if your not in the extremely rich make you feel broke areas like Ashburn, Countryside, Cascades, Chantilly, these areas are packed with rich kids that will piss you off as is the same with Tyson’s Corner. Loudoun County period is by far the worst. But everything past that is pretty cool. Alexandria, Falls Church, Arlington, Baileys Crossroads, and Skyline ect ect. Are pretty cool places if you’re not in the Ghetto Immigrant populated areas like Culmore and parts of West Falls Church and lomans plaza falls church . There is allot of Gang bullshit here but it’s mainly 18thst and MS13 Bullshit. There are allot of GD'S as well. But the gang shit isn’t really anything to worry about in my opinion ive lived here my whole life and only gotten stabbed once. Yes there are fine women its just too bad the good looking ones live in Ashburn and are rich and will piss you off. Personally I like D.C. and Baltimore a lot more. But its home here to me. Plus there is ALOT of good ass weed here especially in the rich areas.

Get the northern virginiamug. Totally different from southern VA... Full of fake people who all only care about money. Teens are in cliques all they do is drink, smoke pot, do crack, have sex with one another sober and not. They think there life sucks when in reality it really doesn't. They just don't have goals and everything is given to them. Home of fake tans all year round. And don't really let newcomers in the cliques. I would know, i've lived here for a total of 9 yrs. (I lived other places this is by far the worst) Chicago(5yrs) was pretty good... Tennessee(3yrs) was pretty good to. But geez here it sucks.
northern virginia is filled with super rich parents who give there kids whatever they want when they want it. Also filled with teens who do whatever they want whenever they want.
